In the grounds of the castle there are two self catering holiday properties - Woodside and Gateside and are both within the 17th century converted barn. Both the holiday homes boast stunning views over Edinburgh, the Firth of Forth and over the water to Fife and beyond.

Prefer to stay in the Castle? The Tower is our B & B accommodation within the original 14th Century part of the castle. Stay in the vaulted room at the top of the old tower - perfect for a romantic get-away! The spiral staircase leads up past the old dungeon to a roof top walkway with panoramic views. Tower Vaults has one bedroom and continental breakfast is provided in the room.

Edinburgh itself boasts a wide variety of museums, historic houses, art galleries, concert halls. It is essentially an arts city full of culture. The Edinburgh International Festival is the finest festival of music, art and drama in the world and is a major attraction during the summer when an impressive Edinburgh Military Tattoo is also held in the evenings at Edinburgh Castle.

In addition to the official Festival, there is the Edinburgh Fringe Festival which caters for the avant-garde with hundreds of university and college groups performing new works. Jazz, film, book and folk festivals are usually held through the summer when the city definitely takes on a festive air.

The setting of our self catering holiday accommodation offers the perfect balance between being close to the buzz of Edinburgh yet have the advantage of a peaceful rural setting amidst rolling farmland. We have recently added a Things to Do section where we have collected recommendation from guests and ourselves to help provide visitors with a guide of local beauty spots, beaches, golf course and other attractions.
